Wexford Native Wins Three Gold Medals At Irish Taekwondo Association National Cup

Billy Winters, who is from Kilmore in Wexford, competed at the ITA National Irish Cup 2022 last weekend on November 5th and November 6th.

This took place at the University of Limerick’s indoor sports arena.

On Saturday 5th November, Billy competed in all the four disciplines in Taekwondo.

He won three gold medals, one in each of sparring, special technique, and power disciplines.

In the other discipline, namely patterns, he received a silver medal.

Sunday, November 6th marked another successful day for Winters after he was awarded Best Overall Junior Competitor of The Irish Cup 2022.

It marked a very successful year for Winters, having previously picked up a bronze medal at the European Championships.

On the same weekend, three Wexford boxers were also crowned All-Ireland champions in their respective weight classes in Dublin’s National Stadium.
