The votes are in: The top 10 pubs in Wexford for 2023

Over the last seven days, we ran a public poll on our Facebook page to find Wexford’s best pub…

Just like with two years ago, we are on the look out to find the best of everything across Wexford. For 2023, we have already published articles on Wexford’s best coffee and on the best take-aways in the county. Over the summer months, we’ll be running polls to find the best of everything else.

A significant total of 853 people voted in the public poll to find Wexford’s best pub and the results are now in.

10 – Carroll’s

Carroll’s Bar is located in Clongeen. They often have live music and their summer line-ups often stretch from Thursday to Sunday night. They regularly cater for christenings and parties. They seem to have a great relationship with their customers too. On Father’s Day for example, they gave a free pint to all Dads in the community. For those pool lovers out there, they also have an excellent pool table and host regular competitions.

9 – The White House Bar

The White House Bar is located in the Templeshannon area of Enniscorthy. It’s the perfect place to relax over a few pints and to enjoy all the sporting action on their many screens.

8 – T Morris

T Morris is located in the Crown Quarter of Wexford town. T Morris is a lively pub with a cracking atmosphere. They’ve a little snug inside for regulars to enjoy a quiet pint, but the real craic is had outside in their large smoking area where many congregate to dance the night away with live music and DJ’s appearing here regularly.

7 – Foley’s of Newbawn

It’s not the first time that Foley’s of Newbawn has made it onto a list like this. Back in 2021, they were also voted into the top 10, taking the number two spot back then. It shows that they have continued to do the right things and that their customers really do value this pub. They have a traditional interior, and a large beer garden for all to sit back and soak in the weather and the pints or some tasty cocktails.

6 – The Coal Bunker

Located in the Ballykelly area of Wexford, The Coal Bunker has become the spot to go for many. Here, they serve bar food all day, offer an outside dining experience, and have an extensive beer menu. Like many of the other pubs, they’re also an ideal spot to watch the sporting action – with GAA and football on the tv’s regularly.

5 – Vine Cottage

The Vine Cottage bar is located in the Saltmills area of New Ross, Wexford. Another great place to watch the sporting action on tv or to grab a nice bite to eat. There’s always a nice atmosphere here with everyone enjoying the craic and entertainment on offer.

4 – Quigley’s Bar

Last time out, Quigley’s Bar in Kilmore won the number one spot. This time, they got 4th position – but that’s not bad pickings at all. It shows that they’re still doing everything right and that their customers value this pub highly. They’re a traditional Irish pub with traditional interior; and as such, you’re guaranteed a lovely pint of Guinness here.

3 – Conran’s Bar

Conran’s Bar is located in the Rathnure area of Wexford. They’re a traditional Irish pub and the pub is an absolute hit with the locals. Like Quigley’s, the drink of choice here is their lovely Guinness which is hard bet. Conran’s bar area also a big supporters of the local community, sponsoring the GAA teams and soccer teams. Despite being a real tight-knit community pub, everyone is welcome here to enjoy a few drinks.

2 – The Swan Bar

The Swan Bar may feel unlucky not to attain the number one spot, being just one vote behind the winners. But, they should be happy with their position nonetheless. They have lovely beer garden for all to enjoy in the great weather. Sporting action is also on the tv’s around the pub, with live entertainment and music blaring on the weekends.

1 – Dan Nolan’s pub

Coming in at number one spot for 2023 is Dan Nolan’s pub. This pub is located in the Ballymurn area of Wexford. From the 853 votes, they took an incredible 104 individual votes. Here, you’ll find live music every weekend, good pub grub, and a lively atmosphere. Along with the aforementioned, their food is to die for. It’s not like the typical pub grub, it’s a lot nicer. It’s safe to say that Dan Nolan’s pub in Ballymurn has everything that you need.
