A Wexford woman won an international award lately…
Mary Mullally grew up in the Mile House area of Enniscorthy all of her life before she moved to Cork with her family just five years ago.
On July 26th, it was announced that Mary had been crowned Miss Elegance Of The World.
Speaking to Wexford Weekly, Mary told us how the “show was done virtually this year.”
“The system wanted to give girls over the world a chance to take part, especially with the cost of living and travel and potentially a visa,” she said.
It’s the third time that the Miss Elegance of the World title has come back to Ireland, but it wasn’t an easy process whatsoever.
Speaking to Wexford Weekly, Mary explained the process:
“I won the title for taking part in Miss Elegance Of The World Pageant, where we had to do 5 videos of different walks. They included an introduction about ourselves, what were our dreams, an international costume – mine was made as an Irish flag, swim-wear, evening wear, elegance dress and then another video saying what would we do with the title if we won it,” she said.

Although Mary has won the international title, it’s not the end of the journey just yet. She will be representing Ireland at a competition in America next year as a result of her win.
“Since I’m one of the third lucky Irish girls to have won the International title, I will get the amazing opportunity to represent Ireland in Florida next July for the International ASA title.”
In the meantime, Mary has just one simple message. She wants to help. She has been involved with and helped multiple charities such as the Irish Cancer Society, Cancer Research UK, Dogs Trust, and Pieta House over the years and that’s what she wants to continue to do.
“I’d like to co continue to help where I can with charities. To help raise awareness around different causes and conditions. And specifically, to help aware awareness around domestic violence and abuse; that anyone can come out of it, and that can still always follow their dreams,” she said.
