A former Wexford hurler has named his toughest ever opponent…

St Martins club man and former Wexford hurler, Tomas Waters, was the most recent guest on The Wexford Hurling Podcast. Throughout the podcast, they reviewed Wexford’s recent performance against Dublin and looked ahead to Wexford’s next clash against Antrim.

At the end of the podcast, Waters was asked to name his toughest ever opponent.

“Playing against, I’d say TJ Reid. We played TJ in a practice match in St Patrick’s Park. He was playing for WIT in January. “”Playing against, I’d say TJ Reid. We played TJ in a practice match in St Patrick’s Park. He was playing for WIT in January. I’ve never seen a man put on more of an exhibition. Myself and Richie Kehoe were just looking at him thinking how is that man doing it,” he said.

Waters also identified the best player he’s ever played with and he picked one of his former Wexford team-mates.

“When he was on form, I’d say Diarmuid (Gizzy) Lyng. I remember just being in awe looking at some of the stuff he was doing with the ball,” Waters told The Wexford Hurling Podcast.
