
The Wexford Senior hurlers will take on Carlow this weekend…
Keith Rossiter’s charges will travel to neighbours Carlow, which will no doubt be an exciting clash. A loss for Wexford will see them battling to avoid relegation, with Kilkenny remaining in their last game in Nowlan Park. A win for Wexford could potentially set-up a clash with Kilkenny, which could see them into a Leinster final or at the minimum – a place in the Liam McCarthy Cup. In Wexford’s previous game, they dominated Galway in Wexford, defeating Henry Shefflin’s side by eight points.
Carlow, on the other hand, are fresh from securing a historic draw with Kilkenny in their previous round. Having home advantage and on a high after their previous game, Carlow will be excited about this one and the Barrowsiders will think that they have a strong chance getting a result here against the Yellowbellies.
Simon Donohoe has returned to the team after sitting out last week’s clash against Galway. Donohoe, who is vice-captain, has been named in midfield. Meanwhile, in attack, Naomh Eanna clubman Cathal Dunbar has been handed the number 13 jersey replacing the suspended Cian Byrne. There is no room for Jack O’Connor either on the starting fifteen or the panel, after he hobbled off with a hamstring injury directly after half-time against Galway in their previous game.
