Here are the results:
6) Trip to the Saltee Islands
If you’re down the South of Wexford, a trip to the Saltee Islands is a must. It has been a hit with tourists in recent times, with tourists going bird watching to seek out the magical puffins. The puffins are a photogenic bird on a magical little island. To get here, you’ll have to take a ferry across which is a daily service ran by the Saltee Ferry for €30 per adult return – but you could definitely make a day trip out of it. Perhaps, a stop at Mary Barry’s in Kilmore for food before you head off from Kilmore Quay and then another stop at the famous Wexford lighthouse – Hook Lighthouse – could be placed into your travel itinerary.

5) Carne Beach
In Wexford, we are lucky to have such beautiful beaches right on our doorstep. Wexford, which boats the accolade of having the most sun in the whole of Ireland, also boasts some of the country’s most beautiful beaches. One of those beaches, according to our followers, is Carne Beach in Rosslare. For 2024, it was once again awarded a ‘Blue Flag’ which is an award for beaches with excellent water quality. It’s a perfect place to lie down on a towel and relax or to go for a stroll and take in the fresh sea air.

4) JFK Park
This park was named after the famous American President, John F Kennedy, after his visit to New Ross. The park is kept in immaculate condition throughout the year. Here, you’ll see an array of different, unique, and colour flowers. Depending on the season, you’ll also see a lot of wildlife – and in particular – rabbits running around the large green areas. For those nature lovers, this is a perfect place to go when you’re in Wexford.

3) Go Paddle
If you’re looking for a little bit of an adventure during your time in Wexford, then Go Paddle has you covered. Go Paddle is a kayaking service in the heart of Enniscorthy. It was launched in 2015 and it has went from strength to strength each year. The experienced kayakers will bring you down Wexford’s famous river – the River Slaney. You’ll be able to soak in the beautiful Wexford scenery while also getting some exercise in. It’s a unique experience that you have to try.

2) Secret Valley Wildlife Park
Did you know that Wexford boasts its very own Wildlife Park and Zoo? Well, now you do! It has been described as one of Wexford’s “hidden gems.” There is a great range of animals at the Wildlife Park such as rescued Primates, Otters, Capybara, Llamas, Domestics and more. With over 40 different species amounting to 200 animals at the park there is plenty to do and see! It’s not just about looking at the animals though. There are activities which include bottle-feeding, animal handling sessions, keeper talks, and feeding alpacas to name just a few. Whether you’re going solo, as a couple, or as a family, you won’t be disappointed. Tickets for the Secret Valley Wildlife Park can be purchased online here.

1) Kia Ora Mini Farm
At number one, according to our readers, is a trip to Kia Ora Mini Farm which is located just outside of Gorey town. It has been described as a “perfect place for a family.” It has something for everyone here. You can bring your own picnic and sit down with your family to enjoy. There’s a wide-range of animals here, but there are also multiple activities that you can get involved in such as ‘miking the cow’, riding the fire-engine, enjoying the Maze playground, playing on the mini-diggers, or even playing football. Family, adult, and child tickets are all reasonably priced at €10 and they can be purchased online here.
