
Young Wexford girl Kara Morrissey brought home an international medal from Wales…
Kara Morrissey representing Presentation Wexford excelled at the S.I.A.B schools international track and field championship in Carmarthen Wales last weekend.
Conditions were challenging with heavy rain throughout the day of competition the athletes had to give their all to gain international honours for their countries.
In the high quality field, the top three vaulters representing Scotland, Ireland and England all tied on 3 metres 43 cm.
It was here when Kara dug deep. She jumped 23cm above her personal best to secure the Bronze medal and valuable points for the Irish Team.
In the overall standings, Ireland finished 2nd on 321 points, England with 471, Wales 287, and Scotland 268.
