The driver was clocked driving at 188km/h on the M11 motorway near Gorey in County Wexford. The speed limit on this road was 120km/h, but the driver was clocked going 66km/h over the speed limit on Sunday, July 28th.
Gorey Roads Policing Unit conducting a speed check on the M11 near Gorey detected this motorist driving at 188km/h in the posted 120km/h limit.
The driver was arrested for Dangerous Driving and has been charged to a sitting of Gorey Court. The Vehicle has been seized under the Road Traffic Act.
The roads policing unit and An Garda Síochána have urged all motorists to slow down and to remember that it’s important to arrive at your destination alive.
