Another Wexford footballer is on the move over across the pond…
Shamrock Rovers AFC, based in Enniscorthy, will be without Darragh Harris next year and for the foreseeable future.
Harris has secured a transfer to a professional football club based in England. The talented sportsman, who played GAA with Oylegate-Glenbrien and with the Wexford minor team, will be joining Chesterfield FC for the upcoming season, who are a League 2 side in England.

Harris is not the only Wexford footballer to join the ranks during this transfer window. Last month, we reported that New Ross town player, Niall Mooney, was on the move to their club too.
In 2023, Chesterfield came in third place of the National League, finishing behind both Wrexham and Notts County in the difficult 24-team-division. However, Justin Tellus’ Chesterfield’s 3-0 victory over Boreham Wood helped to secure promotion for the first time to League 2 for the first time in six years.
Darragh’s now-former club, the Shamrock Rovers, wished him all the best on his new venture.
