Wexford’s Festy Ebosele called into Republic of Ireland squad to replace Seamus Coleman

The Republic of Ireland suffered a 0-2 loss to England at home in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday evening…

It was a disappointing result for the Republic of Ireland under the stewardship of new manager, Heimir Hallgrímsson.

Ireland’s new coach was given a further headache in the second-half, when Seamus Coleman – Ireland’s captain – was forced off with an injury. The Ireland captain was replaced by clubmate Jake O’Brien after 57 minutes.

The FAI have since confirmed that Wexford native, Festy Ebosele, has been called into the Senior Republic of Ireland squad as Seamus Coleman’s replacement.

The Republic of Ireland will take on Greece and Finland in their next matches in the UEFA Nations League and many would be expecting some results to go their way in these games to keep their hopes alive in the competition.
