Excitement in Gorey as David ‘Bomber’ Kennedy has next pro boxing fight confirmed

There’s no doubt that there’s going to be a significant Wexford crowd at this card in the SETU Arena in Waterford on December 7th…

The boxing card, promoted by Conlan Boxing, is a stacked one.

Belfast native Tyrone McKenna will travel to Dylan Moran’s home county of Waterford to battle it out in the headline fight.

Just last week, we revealed how there could be three Wexford boxers on the card and that is now confirmed. Wexford boxer, Dean Walsh, who we interviewed on Tuesday, will be making his professional debut. Meanwhile, Dean Gonzalez Furlong, who is also under the stewardship of Conlan Boxing, will also be featuring on the card as he hopes to go 2-0.

Another pro Wexford boxer – David ‘Bomber’ Kennedy – was also hopeful of getting on the card after boxing promoter, Jamie Conlan, had name dropped him in a previous interview.

Last Tuesday afternoon, Kennedy teased his following that a “new fight date has been locked in… it’s close to home” and that “it’s big time boxing.”

On Wednesday morning, it was confirmed by the promotion that Gorey native David ‘Bomber’ Kennedy will also be featuring on the card, also hoping to add to his record by going 2-0 after making his professional debut on October 4th in Dublin’s Red Cow.

Kennedy brought approximately 250 people from around Wexford and Gorey to support him on his pro debut, beating 32-year old Polish boxer, Michal Malicki on October 4th. As he has put pen to paper and with the announcement of his next fight, there’s an excitement building around Gorey once again and the countdown is on.

It means that three new pro Wexford boxers will all feature on the undercard, all hoping to put on a show and add to their professional records.

There’s no doubt that a huge Wexford crowd will be in attendance on the night to support their own as they all bid to advance their professional sporting careers.
