Wexford’s Tom Dempsey receives GWA Hall of Fame award

There wouldn’t be many people more deserving..

Wexford’s Tom Dempsey, who won an All-Ireland hurling title with the Model County back in 1996, has received an illustrious award.

The Gaelic Writer’s Awards were presented at the Iveagh Garden Hotel in Dublin on Friday night.

Proud Wexford native Tom Dempsey received a GWA Hurling Hall of Fame Award on Friday.

Tom Dempsey, who played his hurling with Buffers Alley but is now a clubman of Glynn-Barntown, was the sole Wexford winner at the GWA awards.

The awards, supported by the Dalata Hotel Group, saw Sean McGoldrick handed the Lifetime Achievement award and Munster GAA’s Dermot Weeshie Lynch named PRO of the Year.
