Former Man City player front-runner to land vacant Wexford FC managerial role

Following the departure of James Keddy, Wexford FC are on the lookout for a new manager to fill the role..

It is believed that a former Man City player is the front-runner to land the vacant role.

According the SunSport, Stephen Elliot – who was a professional footballer of 17 years at both Senior International and Club level (Man City, Sunderland , Wolves, Preston, Norwich, Hearts, Coventry City and Carlisle Utd) is favourite to land the role.

He made his debut for City under Kevin Keegan, coming on as a sub against Bolton Wanderers on 21 February 2004.

HE is a UEFA qualified coach and worked as a football tv and radio analyst with RTE in the past.

Currently, the 40-year-old is overseeing the St Pat’s Academy acting as the Head of Academy for the well-respected Dublin side.
