One Wexford Allianz Hurling League match to be broadcasted live on RTE

At least one Wexford hurling Allianz League match will be broadcast live…

It comes after RTÉ announced their upcoming GAA and Allianz League coverage for the 2025 season.

RTE confirmed that the Wexford versus Kilkenny match, which will take place at Wexford Park on February 8th in the Allianz Hurling League, will be broadcast live on national television screens. The match will get underway at 5:30pm.

It will be Wexford’s third outing in the Allianz Hurling League. Their opening match takes place against Cork at home next week on January 25th, which will form part of a double-header with the Wexford Senior footballers who will be taking on London. The following clash, on Feb 2nd, Wexford will travel to Semple Stadium to take on Tipperary.

With the Cats also coming to Wexford Park in the last round of the Leinster Senior hurling championship, both teams will be hoping to lay down a marker.

In recent times, the matches between Kilkenny and the Yellowbellies have been unbelievable, with everything left on the field by both teams. Wexford seem to have somewhat of an upper-hand over Kilkenny, but their inconsistency in recent years has meant that they have not been reaching the Leinster final stages, dropping points against teams such as Dublin, Westmeath, and Antrim in the past since winning the Leinster title back in 2019.

Despite the fact that Wexford may have an upper-hand over Kilkenny, Kilkenny have won the last five Leinster hurling titles since Wexford’s famous victory in 2019.
