A difficult opening battle has become even more difficult…
That comes after Wexford Senior hurling manager, Keith Rossiter, has provided a damning injury update on the Wexford inter-county squad ahead of their upcoming opening clash in the Allianz Hurling League.
Wexford will play last year’s All-Ireland hurling finalists, Cork, in the opening game of the Allianz Hurling League this weekend, which will form part of a double-header with the Wexford Senior footballers under-lights in Wexford Park.
Here, we look at all you need to know ahead of this weekend’s clash.

Unfortunately, unless you attend the match in person, you will not be watching this game live. It will not be broadcast on television, nor is there an option to stream the Wexford versus Cork game on GAAGo.
Is there anything else on?
It will form part of a double-header with the Wexford Senior footballers. The Wexford Senior footballers will take on London in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League. This will take place at 7pm after the hurling match.
How are Wexford ahead of the clash?
It’s not good news for Keith Rossiter and the Wexford Senior hurling team. Already facing an uphill battle against last year’s All-Ireland finalists, Rossiter has been dealt some major blows who are ruled out of the Cork clash. They include Conor McDonald, Lee Chin, Liam Ryan, Damien Reck, Jack O’Connor and also the trio of Matt O’Hanlon, Dee O’Keeffe, and Liam OgMcGovern that retired ahead of the season. It’s expected that an experimental side will be playing the clash, but make no mistake that they will be eager to impress the management team. Read more about the injuries here.
Who else will Wexford play in the League campaign?
Wexford have been placed into Roinn A of the Allianz Hurling League for 2025. They will also take on Tipperary, Kilkenny, Clare, Galway, and Limerick which will no doubt be tricky encounters for the Yellowbellies who are plagued by injuries. You can view the full list of fixtures here.
