Boost for Wexford Senior hurlers as key hurler returns to training

A key Wexford hurler has returned to the panel…

Keith Rossiter and the Wexford Senior hurlers were handed a boost as one of their key hurlers has returned to the training panel.

Wexford hurling captain – and full-forward – Lee Chin, has returned to Keith Rossiter’s Wexford Senior hurling panel.

The Faythe Harriers missed the opening two rounds of the Allianz Hurling League, which seen Wexford lose out comprehensively to Cork in the first round and then lost out to Tipperary in Semple Stadium on Sunday evening.

Chin missed pre-season and the opening two games of the Allianz Hurling League as he was travelling and was residing in Australia alongside recent retiree Matthew O’Hanlon up until recently.

However, during the live commentary of the Wexford-Tipperary clash, Liam Spratt of South East Radio reported on Sunday that the Faythe Harriers club man trained with other members of the Wexford Senior hurling squad on Sunday morning.

His return will be a much-needed boost to a severely depleted Wexford Senior hurling squad. Wexford will take on Kilkenny next week, but whether Chin will feature remains to be seen, as he may not be up to the pace of inter-county hurling so soon after returning home to Ireland.

Along with Lee Chin, Rory O’Connor will return for next week’s clash against Kilkenny as he will be returning from suspension after receiving a straight-red against Cork last weekend.
