Two Wexford GAA club teams have won free trips to France…
Both Faythe Harriers and Naomh Eanna have won trips to France after their clubs were successful in the Super 11’s Tournament held in Wexford recently.
After winning their respective semi-finals, both teams will now play in the final in France. Travel by ferry and accommodation in France will be provided for 20 members of both qualifying clubs (15 players plus 5 backroom personnel).
The final will take place in Cherbourg, France, on Saturday March 22nd, as part of a festival there to celebrate the links between Normandy and Ireland.
In the first semi-final, Faythe Harriers defeated St Annes on Monday evening on the astro-turf pitch in Wexford CBS. The game, which is goals only, was won by Faythe Harriers on a score-line of 7-4. Four of the Faythe Harriers goals came from their sharp-shooter, Luke Murphy.
In the second semi-final, Naomh Eanna of Gorey took on neighbours Ferns St-Aidans. This took place at 7:30pm on Wednesday in Ferns’ home ground. A strong Gorey side was named which included the likes of Jack Cullen, Padraig Doyle, Sean Doyle, Eoin Molloy and Jack Doran to name just a few. In the end, Naomh Eanna came away with the victory.

All Senior and Intermediate hurling clubs in Wexford were invited to enter this fast-paced, exhilarating format of hurling.
