Happy St Patrick’s Day poem – David P Carroll

St Patrick’s Day is just one week away…

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday that takes place on March 17th to honor St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. It’s a day to celebrate Irish culture and heritage, and is celebrated with parades, festivities, and green-themed events

Irish-based poet David P Caroll sent us his “Happy St Patrick’s Day” poem to be published on our website.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day.

On Saint Patrick’s day

A joyful sound and with

Shamrocks mall around

And little children’s laughter

Fills the air and we’ll

Celebrate Saint Patrick’s day

This Irish feast a welcome sight

A beacon shining pure and bright

_

And family and friends Will

Gather round in a joyful parade

Waving Irish flags on Saint Patrick’s day

And stories are been told and

Happiness and memories are made

_

From Enniscorthy to Gorey

The celebrations hold their sway

And the little leprechauns are laughing

Hiding in the fields of the morning mist

The Irish spirit strong and ever true

A heritage of legends shining bright

_

And Saint Patrick

His legacy in song and story

Forever told and on Saint Patrick’s day

May your day be filled with

And good fortune wherever you go

So let the Irish music fill the air

And let your spirits soar high

_

So raise your glasses

And we’ll toast our hero

Saint Patrick and to the

Spirit of Ireland we truly love the most

_

So let green be worn

A symbol pure and bright

A celebration of our hero

Saint Patrick and his

Blessed legacy forever true

_

In vibrant hues a festive scene

Irish blessings warm and true

_

And on Saint Patrick’s Day

The memories we cherish

And so may the love and luck

Of the Irish be with you

All around the world

On this very special and

Loving peaceful day

So God bless you all

And may you all have

A magical and happy

Peaceful Saint Patrick’s Day.
