Wexford over 35’s football league on the look-out for new teams

Founded in 2017 the Richie Dwyer over 35s league is entering its 9th season….

It is coming off the back of their most successful season to date in 2024 which saw 16 teams and over 400 players compete from May to August last year to try and win four different trophies.

In the end, Enniscorthy won a double, coming away with both the League and the Cup.

Meanwhile, Arklow Town won the league trophy, while Courtown won the Shield.

This year, the League hopes to attract even more players and teams.

Chairman Joe Doyle, now in his 7th year as Chairman told Wexford Weekly:

“We’re now actively looking for new or existing teams to express a interest in joining this year. Joe also says the requirements to join are you need a squad of 20 or more and players need to be 35 on or before the 1st May this year,” Joe said.

The League will kick off in around the 9th May and it will run till the middle of August.
