Dean Walsh ruled out of his next pro boxing fight

It’s not good news for Dean Walsh…

The Wexford town man has been forced out of his next scheduled fight due to injury.

Walsh shared the news on his social media channels on Thursday afternoon. He had suffered a hand injury in his training camp.

In the post, he said that he thought he may have been able to fight through the injury. Both his close friends and team knew of the injury, but now closer to the fight date – with just nine days to go – he has been ruled out, which he described as “sickening”.

In related boxing news, Gorey boxer David ‘Bomber’ Kennedy will be the sole Wexford representative on the April 12th card. The bout will take place at the National Stadium in Dublin.
