After the success of last year’s competition, the Hurling Masters is back once again, with the opening round to take place later this month…
For team members selected, one rule is that players must be over 40-years of age, which in turn sees a lot of legends reeling back the years and playing the beautiful game.
Last year, the Wexford Masters enjoyed multiple wins in the competition, before losing out to a star-studded Tipperary team in the All-Ireland final. Before the All-Ireland final, Wexford had defeated Limerick, Kildare, Cork and Galway.
The likes of Rory Jacob, Diarmuid Lyng, John O’Connor, and Mossie Mahon all featured for Wexford at various stages of last year’s competition.

The Masters hurling team will be once again be managed by Rathnure’s Dave Guiney, while Gorey’s David ‘Bomber’ Kennedy and Padge ‘Skinner’ Walsh from the Rapparees will join the backroom team. The team, which have three home games this year, are also on the look-out for new sponsors to come on board. Those interested in sponsoring the team should contact Dave Guiney.
