The draw for the first round of the FAI Cup took place on Sunday…
Just one Wexford team are in the competition. Wexford town based club, North End United, are the sole Wexford representatives.
North End United have been drawn against Mayo side, Castlebar Celtic.
The good news for the Wexford side is that they were drawn out of the hat first. This means that they have gained home advantage for their clash against the top-tier Mayo side.
Fixtures – FAI Cup – First Round:

All ties are scheduled to be played over the weekend of May 18th.
It’s worth noting that North End, who are in the semi-final of the FAI Junior Cup after winning their quarter-final against St Michaels last month, could also be playing Castlebar Celtic in the semi-final of that competition.
Castlebar Celtic, after winning an appeal, set up a mouth-watering quarter-final tie with Galway’s Salthill Devon in the quarter-final of the competition. A win for Castlebar will see them take on North End in the FAI Junior Cup semi-final.
