The Wexford Masters hurling team enjoyed a win over the Kildare Masters hurling team on May 17th…
It was the opening round of the 2025 competition. Last year, Wexford reached the All-Ireland final of the 2024 Masters hurling competition, before losing out to a star-studded Tipperary team in the final.
But, it’s a brand new year and the Wexford Masters hurling team have got off to a perfect start, defeating the Lillywhites on a score-line of 3-15 to 0-05 in their opening clash held in Clane, County Kildare.

It was an all-round excellent team performance, but three players in particular stood out on the day for the Wexford Masters team. They were John Breen (Ferns), Tommy Devereux (Askamore), and Gary Morton (Bannow Ballymitty).
The next clash for the Wexford Masters hurling team will be against Limerick. A tougher test lies ahead for Wexford, but with home advantage, confidence will be high heading into that encounter. The team, managed by David Kennedy, Padge Walsh and Dave Guiney will be hoping to get more wins on the board.
