The Wexford Masters hurling team defeated Kildare in the opening round (away). Then, they defeated the Limerick Masters hurling team in Bellefield last weekend…
One week later, they were fixtured in to take on Galway in the third round of the All-Ireland Masters hurling competition.
Although originally fixed as an ‘away’ venue, both teams have opted to play it at a neutral venue instead. The match was played at Clodiagh Gaels GAA Club in Offaly on Sunday June 22nd, with the club’s brand-new scoreboard in action for the very first time.
The Wexford Maters hurling team defeated Galway on a score-line of 1-26 to 2-12.
After the win, it means that Wexford – along with last year’s champions Tipperary – now sit on joint-first place of the group table with two games remaining. Wexford will take on both Cork and Tipperary in their final two games.
