Wexford lost out to Fermanagh in Round 3 of the Tailteann Cup…
However, not all is lost for the Wexford Senior Footballers as Wexford came in second position of the four-team group, having defeated Longford in the opening round and then drawing to Carlow in Round 2.
John Hegarty’s Wexford Senior Footballers will have at least one more game in the second-tier competition, with the draw for the Tailteann Cup taking place on Sunday evening.
Wexford have been drawn against Antrim. This is a preliminary quarter-final for the Tailteann Cup.
Wexford will take on Antrim at home (Wexford Park) on Sunday at 1pm.
Wexford will be relatively happy with the draw, helped by the fact that it’s a home fixture too.
Although all games in the Tailteann Cup can be difficult – with teams evenly matched – they will be confident of coming away with the victory and marching on into the Tailteann Cup quarter-finals for 2025.
Wexford will also be hoping that Shelmalier’s clubman, Eoghan Nolan, will be available for the clash, having limped off with a calf injury in their clash against Fermanagh in Croke Park on Sunday.
