Timmy Mallett is an English television presenter, broadcaster, author and artist. He is known for his striking visual style, colourful glasses and shirts, and a giant pink foam mallet (known as “Mallett’s Mallet”), as well as his “utterly brilliant!” and “blaaah!” catchphrases.
Mallett is cycling through various parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
His journey, which began in Northern Ireland, is documented on his social media. Timmy Mallett is raising funds in memory of his brother, Martin, who had Down’s Syndrome
In Wexford, he made stops at Curracloe Beach, the River Barrow, the Rose Kennedy Bridge and John F Kennedy Park, along with staying in hotels such as Whites Hotel, the Amber Springs Hotel, and Brandon House Hotel to name just a few.
Cycling from Gorey to Wexford, he could not believe his eyes when he spotted his doppelganger in Ballycanew.
“Ballycanew has an utterly brilliant cycling statue by the shelter and he looks just like me! I’ve given him a Timmy sticker, left an autograph card and something else very special A brother Martin Mallett name tag. Thank you Ballycanew for giving me a big smile at the end of the day. You are wonderful,” he said in a Facebook post to over 130,000 of his followers.
