
A new Wexford Rose for 2025 will be confirmed on Friday night…
After receiving multiple applications, the Wexford Rose committee now have the tricky task of finding Wexford’s newest rose for 2025.
An selection process will take place on Friday evening at the Ashtown Park Hotel in Gorey, with 22 potential roses competing in the Wexford competition. The winner of the Wexford rose competition will represent Wexford at the annual Rose of Tralee Festival, which will take place in Kerry and will be broadcasted on RTÉ.
The Rose of Tralee International Festival is a celebration of Irish culture and heritage, connecting the global Irish community. The Festival is supported by over 70 Rose Centres globally in Ireland, the UK, Europe, Middle East, North America, Australia and New Zealand; with centres selecting a Rose bi-annually, such that a whole host of Roses from around the world enjoy everything that the Festival has to offer each year.
The 2025 Rose of Tralee International Festival will take place from August 15th – 19th.
Here, we look at the applicants in the running to become Wexford’s Rose for 2025.
1. Katie Leeann Nolan, sponsored by Pembroke Dental
Katie Leeann Nolan, 20, from Raheengrany, Co. Wexford, currently works at Pembroke Dental, who generously sponsor her this year. Growing up surrounded by horses, Katie has carried this passion into adulthood, making horse riding a core part of her life. One of her biggest dreams is to be selected as a Rose, a tradition her family cherishes every year. Katie’s dedication to her work, love for horses, and desire to uphold family traditions fuel her ambitions. With a bright future ahead, she continues to pursue both her professional and personal dreams with passion and determination.

Hi, my name is Hollie , I’m a student at UCD currently completing a Level 8 degree in Paediatric and General Nursing. My college placement included over 400 hours in autism-specific classrooms, and I’ve recently trained in Lámh sign language to support inclusive communication.
Last year, I spent one month volunteering in disadvantaged schools in Tanzania, which was a life-changing experience.Each week, I bring my therapy dogs to the local nursing home, where their visits bring joy to the residents!
