A Wexford man has helped to raise €1,000 for charity through a charity football tournament…
CIE Promotions, ran by Enniscorthy’s Mick Abidoye, has shared that their recent tournament raised €1,000 for The Bukky Foundation.
The Bukky Foundation was established in memory of Olubukoye “Bukky” Abidoye by his eldest son, Michael Abidoye Jnr. Bukky passed away suddenly on 30th January 2019 at the age of 46, leaving behind his wife, children, siblings, extended family, and a grieving community in Wexford, Ireland, and beyond. The foundation’s mission is to support families who have experienced the sudden loss of a loved one and to provide assistance to single parent families struggling to cope with such a loss.
Speaking to Wexford Weekly, Mick said:
“A big thank you to everyone who donated, came along on the day, and helped support such a great cause.A special shoutout to referee Danut Romanescu for doing a top job on the pitch,” Mick said.

“A huge thank you to Geraldine Tyrell for all her help behind the scenes, and to Ken Kennedy for selecting the football awards — both played a big part in making the day a success. Thanks as well to Shamrock Rovers for kindly letting us use the pitch — much appreciated,2 Mick concluded.
