Two Wexford women, and former students of the Presentation in Wexford, have received scholarships for America.

Both Aisling Roche and Aoibheann Rankin received soccer scholarships with Auburn University at Montgomery Alabama.

“We wish them the very best of luck with the upcoming season and their studies,” the Presentation in Wexford said.

Meanwhile, both Aoibheann’s and Aisling’s now-former football club – Wexford FC Women – wished her the very best of luck on her journey.

“Congratulations Aoibheann – everyone at Wexford FC Women will miss you loads but we are so proud of you and wish you every success and joy on this new chapter of your life,” they said about Aoibheann.

“Starting with our U13 development team and going on to play in the Women’s Premier Division with us, we have no doubt Ais is going to absolutely crush it in the NCAA,” they said to Aisling.

The soccer programme at Auburn University, located in Auburn, Alabama, offers athletic scholarships because it competes in the NCAA Division I level.

Division I is the highest level of collegiate competition and is governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Both players will link up with her new teammates in the coming weeks as they begin their pre-season ahead of their freshman years.
