Interview: Dean Walsh looking ahead to next pro fight in 5 weeks time

Dean Walsh won his most recent professional boxing outing in the 3Arena…

On Friday night, Walsh fought Jamil Elo in an 8-rounder, winning 79-73 on points on the Mick Conlan undercard.

It will be a quick turn-around for the Wexford man though with his next fight just around the corner. Out next, Walsh is scheduled to be fighting Daniel O’Sullivan on a JB Promotions card at the National Stadium in just five week’s time.

O’Sullivan is a two-weight Celtic boxing champion and will no doubt be a tougher test for the 31-year old Walsh. A win against O’Sullivan would mean that Walsh will be fighting for an Irish title fight in the following fight.

Walsh was quick to thank the travelling Wexford supporters too:

“The crowd was great – and for all the people from Wexford and Waterford who have travlelled up. Thanks to all them who bought tickets. It was mad support and I really appreciate it,” he said.
