Wexford’s Dean Furlong won his latest pro boxing fight over the weekend…
Dean “Speedy Gonzalez” Furlong continued his perfect start as a professional this past weekend, improving to 6–0 with a unanimous points win over Marian Wesolowski in Spain.
The fight took place on a PCI Promotions card at the Pabellón Municipal in Canals, where Furlong looked sharp over the distance, doing enough to sway all judges in his favour.
The Wexford man, now based in Spain, remains unbeaten and continues to build a reputation as one of Ireland’s most promising rising boxers abroad.

His composure, speed, and technical skill were once again on display as he controlled the pace of the fight and ultimately outworked his opponent.
Looking ahead, Furlong is expected to step up against more durable opposition in the coming months. He has expressed a desire to remain active, to test his limits, and to gradually chase contracts on bigger undercards.

A return to Ireland for a high-profile bout is also on the horizon, should the opportunity arise, as the Wexford native continues his impressive climb through the professional ranks.
Meanwhile, in related boxing news, Gorey’s Kayleigh Byrne will fight in the amateur European Boxing Championships semi-final tomorrow (Wednesday) against an English opponent. Read more about her upcoming fight here.
