KDA Accountants have become one of Wexford’s most trusted financial firms, known for their friendly, client-focused approach and practical expertise….
The firm is led by part owner Frank Kelly, who is one of the driving forces behind their ongoing growth. We recently caught up with Frank to discuss the services that they provide, how they became an established name in the industry, and the tax advice that they would give to people thinking of starting their own business.
The accountancy firm has established a strong presence in North Wexford, expanding its footprint over the years. Frank explains where their offices are based and when they were established:
“We have offices in Gorey since 2017 and Bunclody since 2024.”
When describing what KDA offers, Frank speaks with pride about the team’s wide-ranging services and approachable nature.
“We are super awesome accountants. We provide all types of accounting services from accounts, VAT, payroll and filing of tax returns. We look after everyone from the small sole trader to the bigger limited companies.”
Frank goes on to share how KDA came to be, and how the team made sure people knew about the rebrand and their services from the very beginning.
“We set up KDA in 2020, prior to that the business was ‘James Doyle Accountants’. We used social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn to create awareness. We got branded merchandise and designed a new website,” Frank told Wexford Weekly.
Despite the challenges that come with running a business, Frank says geography isn’t one of them — and praises Wexford’s supportive business network.
“I don’t think geographical location has caused any challenges. We are facing the same problems as many of our clients, labour shortages, increased costs (including labour), lack of commercial space to rent. Wexford is a great county for networking and people knowing people.”
With well-known clients such as Katie Daly’s in Gorey, Kenny Fuels, and K&K Windows, KDA has earned a strong reputation locally. Frank believes their success comes down to care:
“Our customer service levels are what set us apart. We are client focused and mind clients like they are our babies… probably too much minding in some cases. We also have a great reputation for being able to talk about complex matters in a simple and easily understood way. Our staff are also amazing and we are only as good as our people. Our brand slogan is #trustedthinking. We build personal relationships with clients and I think this comes across very clearly from our video testimonials on our website,” he told Wexford Weekly.

Finally, Frank offers some practical advice for anyone thinking about starting their own business — encouraging preparation, awareness, and seeking advice early.
“Do a business plan, have your homework done, know your figures, know your costs and know your break-even point or turn key money (how much will it cost you to open the door every day). After that, look at your initial structure; it’s important to get this right from the start. As a business owner, you need to know a certain amount about compliance etc and be aware. Always ask your accountant before you do something. Don’t just arrive in after doing it and ask was it the right thing to do,” he told Wexford Weekly.
Looking ahead, KDA is taking steps to support Wexford’s next wave of entrepreneurs. Frank concludes with an exciting announcement:
“KDA will be running some ‘Start Your Own Business’ clinics in 2026 where people who are thinking of becoming self-employed can come and learn some basics and get some basic information before making the final decision.”
