Wexford man becomes face of new Jameson Whiskey campaign

A Wexford town man is stepping into the national spotlight after being confirmed as the new face of one of Ireland’s most recognisable brands…

Nic Furlong, an award-winning actor and professional model from Wexford town, has revealed that he recently wrapped filming on a major new campaign for Jameson Whiskey.

The production took place over the course of a week in Cork, where Nic worked on the high-profile shoot that is set to roll out across Ireland in the coming weeks.

Speaking on the announcement, Nic exclusively told Wexford Weekly that:

“I have recently become the new face of Jameson Whiskey. I spent a week filming the campaign down in Cork. It’s coming out this side of Christmas — socials, TV ads, billboards, the whole lot.”

The campaign, expected to launch before Christmas, will feature across multiple platforms including television advertisements, digital social content, and nationwide billboard placements.

While the Jameson campaign marks an exciting milestone in his career, Nic is already highly decorated for his creative work beyond the camera.

The Wexford man, who is also a cousin of pro Wexford boxer Dean Gonzalez Furlong, has won multiple awards for his writing, producing a series of short pieces that tackle modern social issues through a cinematic lens.

His first short, SEED, is a psychological thriller centred around mental health, blending tension and emotion to explore the complexities of the human mind. His second, Lola, focuses on heroin abuse in young people and has already built strong recognition among audiences.

Nic’s third short, Canelli, sees his take an impressive creative pivot into comedy. The story follows the evolving relationship between music teacher Seamus Canelli and his student Abigail Fix. Seamus harbours a secret life as a drag queen, and when Abigail discovers the truth by chance, she chooses not to expose him, instead offering her support as he navigates his double life. With the short now in pre-production, Nic confirmed that the project is “waiting on funding”, adding: “Fingers crossed.”

With an already award-laden portfolio and now leading a national Jameson campaign, Nic Furlong continues to prove that Wexford talent is thriving at the highest levels of Irish film and media.

His journey reflects more than personal success. It showcases bold storytelling that faces real issues head-on, while also bringing humour, heart, and identity-driven narratives to Irish screens.

All eyes now turn to the official Jameson rollout, as a Wexford man prepares to become one of the most visible faces in Ireland this Christmas.
