Met Eireann issue Status Yellow rain warning for Wexford

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Wexford and several other counties, with heavy rainfall expected to pose risks from Monday night into Tuesday morning…

The alert, which also applies to Carlow, Kilkenny, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford, warns of heavy rain falling on already saturated ground.

According to forecasters, this raises the likelihood of localised flooding and could lead to challenging travel conditions across the region.

Officials say the incoming rainfall may also impact outdoor events, with communities advised to monitor updates and take precautions where necessary.

The warning is valid from 21:00 on Monday, 08 December 2025, until 09:00 on Tuesday, 09 December 2025, and was issued at 09:04 on Sunday morning.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution, allow extra time for journeys, and be alert for surface water on roads. Residents in flood-prone areas should remain vigilant as the weather system approaches.
