Three Wexford boxers nominated for Irish boxing awards

Three Wexford boxers have been nominated for Irish boxing awards…

Professional Wexford boxers, Dean Gonzalez Furlong and Dean Walsh, have been nominated for Irish-boxing.com awards.

Both Wexford boxers have been nominated for ‘Prospect of the Year’.

Walsh has been nominated in the category for ‘Domestic fight of the Year’ following his domestic title clash against Dublin’s Daniel O’Sullivan.

Lastly, Wexford’s Sean Kelly has been nominated for the ‘Amateur of the Year’ award after his exploits abroad which seen him bring back a Gold medal from the Under 19 European Championships held in Germany two weeks ago.

Polls for each of the awards can be found on the link above and voting will remain open until New Year’s Eve. The results to be revealed on January 1st.

In related professional boxing news, Gorey’s David Bomber Kennedy is set to fight in Ballybofey, Co. Donegal, as he hopes to go 3-0 in the pro boxing ranks. Meanwhile, Dean Walsh set to pencil in a new fight date soon, with news to be confirmed in the coming days.
