Well-known County Wexford coffee shop closes down

A well-known coffee shop in County Wexford has closed down…

A locally established coffee shop, located on the heart of Wexford’s Main Street, has closed their doors to the public.

Costa Coffee, located on the Main Street in Wexford, shut its doors to the public last week.

A spokesperson for the company told the Irish Independent that the branch in Wexford will be the only Costa Coffee to close down and it’s not part of a nationwide closure.

Although there are plenty of other excellent coffee options in Wexford town these days, it’s still sad to see a business closing their doors completely.

They were in business in Wexford town for the past 11 years.

Their closure could be indicitave of what’s to come: with more coffee shops and coffee huts appearing, the competition becomes even more difficult.

Added to the increased rates and increased wages for staff coupled with the cost-of-living for customers, it shows that the coffee business is a competitive market to be in when a giant like Costa Coffee has to close their doors.

At the time of writing, it’s unknown what new business will take over the property, however, Wexford locals will be hoping that it happens sooner rather than later.
