A major charity golf event is set to take place in Ballymoney this spring, with proceeds going toward the vital work of Aoibheann’s Pink Tie…
The Breen’s Golf Society Captain’s Classic promises to be one of the standout charity golf classics in the southeast, bringing together teams for a fantastic day of sport, community spirit, and fundraising.
The event will take place at Ballymoney Golf Club on Friday, 17th April 2026, featuring a 4-Ball Scramble format packed with on-course activities and competitions. Participants can look forward to a full day’s entertainment including a Pink Ball Challenge, burgers served on the 10th, tea, coffee and soup stations, goody bags for players, a range of amazing prizes, and huge raffle prizes.
Golfers will also have the chance to win big on the course, with a car on offer for the first hole-in-one and €25,000 up for grabs for a second hole-in-one.
Due to overwhelming interest, there is now a waiting list in place for teams hoping to take part.
Local businesses and supporters can still get involved through tee-box sponsorship, which is available for €50, with interested sponsors encouraged to contact Breen’s Golf Society via their Facebook page. The event is proudly sponsored by Stafford’s Bakeries.
Festivities will continue into the evening with an official after-party at Breen’s Bar in Gorey, kicking off from 8pm. The night will feature live music from Fusion Live Band, followed by a DJ and late bar, along with a raffle on the night that includes a €500 first prize.
Organisers say the after-party will provide the perfect opportunity to celebrate the day’s golf while raising additional funds for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, with the Captain’s Classic shaping up to be one of the region’s premier charity sporting events of 2026.
