A landmark retail premises in the heart of Gorey has been placed on the market, bringing to a close more than two decades of trading on the town’s bustling Main Street.

The well known House 2 Home store, which has been serving customers in Gorey for over 25 years, is being offered for sale by online auction with a guide price of €400,000.

Sharing the news on Thursday morning, the owners of House 2 Home encouraged anyone with vouchers to use them before the shop closes their doors on April 30th 2026.


The three storey commercial property at No. 87 Main Street is being brought to the market by property agents Quinn Property and will go under the hammer on Tuesday, 31st March 2026 at 12 noon.

Trading as House 2 Home for over a quarter of a century, the business has built up a loyal customer base, offering everything from giftware and household items to curtains, blinds and wallpaper, helping many local families turn their houses into homes. A clearance sale has been ongoing at the premises since January 2026.

Extending to approximately 186 square metres over three floors, the property includes around 157 square metres of prime retail space on the ground floor. The premises enjoys a high profile position along one of the busiest retail stretches of Gorey’s Main Street, an area known for strong footfall and a vibrant mix of shops, cafés and services.

The sale is being offered with vacant possession, providing flexibility for prospective buyers. The layout is described as adaptable and suitable for a variety of commercial uses, making it an attractive option for both owner occupiers and investors. There is also potential to further develop or expand the building, subject to the relevant planning permission.

With Gorey continuing to grow as one of the region’s most prominent towns, the sale of this long established retail premises is likely to generate significant interest in the local property market.
