Another vape shop is set to open in Wexford…

Bites & Clouds, a new vape shop which also sells American candy, will be opening its doors soon in Wexford town.

It means that there will be three similar vape shops in close proximity of each other on Wexford’s Main Street.

Bites & Clouds, located on North Main Street in Wexford town — will also join BNKK Vapes and Hale Vapes — who are currently selling similar products in the town.

One local councillor, Tom Forde, was critical of Wexford County Council for granting permission for the vape shop in Wexford town:

“I know the last thing we need in the town is another shop like this, when planning are refusing other businesses like coffee shops,” he said.

The Wexford County Councillor requested more information from the council, with Graeme Hunt, Executive Planner at Wexford’s County Council providing an answer:

“The use of premises for the selling of vape products is considered a retail use in Planning and therefore if a property is in/has had retail use then its use as a vape shop does not need planning permission. As such even if there were a council policy about restricting the use (if such a policy was possible) then it could not be applied to a proposal which did not need planning permission,” Graeme Hunt said.

New legislation from the HSE (Health Service Executive) is due to come in on February 2026 which could impact the vape stores across the country.
