Wexford woman scores three tries in Ireland’s recent Six Nations wins in England

Huge pride spread across Castletown GAA and the wider Gorey area as two outstanding athletes represented Ireland at the U18 Women’s Six Nations Festival in Wellington College, England…

Sophia White (Arklow RFC U18’s) is a student of Gorey Community School and proud Castletown GAA member. Along with her recent achievements with the Irish rugby team, Sophia has also represented Wexford LGFA at U14 & U16 level.

Usha Daly O’Toole (Wicklow RFC Women’s / Gorey RFC U18’s). Usha is also a past pupil of Gorey Community School and Castletown GAA player. Usha has likewise represented Wexford LGFA up to U16 level.

In Ireland’s recent clash against Scotland and England in the u-18’s Six Nations Championship, Usha scored a cracking three tries to help secure her team’s victory in both deciders. Ireland overcame England and Scotland in two 35-minute matches at the U-18 Women’s Six Nations Festival on Easter Monday.

Both girls are fantastic examples of dual players excelling across codes and progressing onto the international rugby stage. A brilliant achievement for their families, coaches, clubs, and community — and a testament to the strong underage structures in both rugby and LGFA in the South East.
