Wexford Senior hurling team named for Kildare clash

There’s some excitement in the air as Wexford hurling fans gear up for the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship…

Wexford’s opening round of the competition will take place on Saturday in Newbridge (6:30pm) against Kildare.

Wexford Senior hurling manager, Keith Rossiter, has named his team for the upcoming clash against the Lillywhites. It was hoped that Liam Ryan and Jack O’Connor would see some game-time, having not played any minutes throughout the Allianz League campaign. Both have been named on the bench.

Wexford team vs Kildare

It’s a game that both teams would have pinpointed as a must-win clash. Kildare’s hopes will be to retain their Liam McCarthy status, while it’s likely that Wexford will be hoping for a finish in the top three.

Wexford last won the Leinster Senior hurling title back in 2019; this opening round against Kildare poses a potential banana-skin for the Model County, but they’ll be hopeful of overturning Johnny Kelly’s Kildare side this weekend to kickstart their campaign.
