Calls made to nominate ‘Wexford GAA Club Champion’

Beko and Leinster GAA have launched the 2026 Beko Club Champion, an initiative open to all GAA clubs in Wexford…

The Beko Club Champion accolade rewards and celebrates dedicated club volunteers whose hard work often goes unnoticed. Last year saw nominee Joe Kavanagh from Davidstown-Courtnacuddy GAA Club claim the 2025 Wexford Club Champion for his ongoing commitment and dedication to his local club and community.

Celebrating 10 years of the partnership with Leinster GAA, Beko has overseen the distribution of over €250,000 worth of equipment to over 90 clubs across the province, rewarding hard work, commitment and dedication taking place at grassroots level.

Aiming to continue highlighting the incredible volunteer work carried out by club members, nominations are now open where 12 winners, one from each county, will be named Beko Club Champions and receive €1,000 worth of gear and equipment for their local GAA club.

All Wexford GAA clubs are encouraged to enter by submitting details via a simple online mechanic before the closing date for submissions on Friday, 25th September at 5pm. To enter, people are asked to nominate a worthy volunteer here with a Wexford nominee to be awarded the 2026 Beko Club Champion and their club will be awarded €1,000 worth of training equipment, as selected by an independent judging panel.

Speaking of the 2026 Beko Club Champion initiative, Cathaoirleach Comhairle Laighean Martin Byrne said:

“Beko’s partnership with Leinster GAA has had a real and lasting impact on clubs across the province. Their continued support has provided valuable resources at grassroots level, but just as importantly, it has helped shine a light on the often-unsung heroes whose dedication keeps our games alive. We are delighted to build on that strong and enduring relationship as we continue to celebrate and support this vital work through the 2026 campaign.”

Shane O’Connor, Beko Ireland Marketing Manager added:

“The Beko Club Champion continues to go from strength to strength over the term of the partnership. We are very proud to be able to recognise heroes of GAA clubs as we know the levels of dedication and commitment they put in on their own time. It’s an honour to be able to meet the volunteers and their families and hear the incredible work they are doing at grass roots level and we look forward to doing it again this year. We want to encourage people to nominate a worthy club member and be in with a chance of becoming a Beko Club Champion.”
