New four-week barista school workshop to launch in Wexford

A new barista school will be launched in County Wexford next month…

In July 2026, Kinfolk — located in Eclectic Avenue, will launch their new barista school.

The Kinfolk Barista School will be led by award winning barista, Hugo Pisco.

Whether you’re considering a career in coffee, looking to upskill, or simply want to learn from an experienced professional, this practical four week course is designed to give you the knowledge, confidence and hands on experience needed to work behind a coffee bar.

Each course runs over four weeks, with one 2 hour class per week on either Monday or Tuesday evenings.

Week 1: Coffee Foundations

Learn about coffee origins, beans, brewing methods, espresso extraction, equipment, measurements, grind settings and the fundamentals of making great coffee. You’ll gain a solid understanding of what goes into producing consistently high quality drinks.

Week 2: Espresso & Milk Skills

Master the preparation of popular coffee drinks, understand milk texturing and frothing techniques, and learn how to produce quality beverages with consistency and confidence.

Week 3: Beyond Coffee

Explore the growing world of specialty drinks including matcha, chai, mochas, iced beverages, alternative milks and seasonal café favourites. As cafés continue to diversify their menus, these skills are becoming increasingly valuable in the workplace.

Week 4: Real Café Experience

Put everything you’ve learned into practice by working alongside our team in a live café environment. Prepare drinks, interact with customers and experience the pace of a busy service. This practical session is designed to build confidence, speed and customer service skills that simply cannot be learned in a classroom alone.

It is this combination of specialty drink training and real world café experience that makes Kinfolk Barista School different.
