Summer Fridays in Wexford town are about to get even tastier…
The Crown Quarter have launched a brand-new weekly BBQ experience in Monck’s Lane, combining flame-grilled food, music and entertainment in the heart of the town.
The BBQ series at Monck’s Lane kickstarted last Friday, 26 June — and after it’s success, it’s running again tomorrow Friday, 3 July.
Throughout the summer, Monck’s Lane will be hosting the BBQ events on most Friday evenings until 28 August. The new event series marks the first time Crown Quarter has opened its popular BBQ offering to the public:
“While we’ve previously hosted private corporate BBQs (which we still offer), this is the first time we’re running a public BBQ event series like this. The BBQs run from 26th June to 28th August, with the exception of 17th July and 31st July, when Monck’s Lane will be hosting private events,” Chloe Butler, Marketing & Events Executive at Crown Quarter told Wexford Weekly.
Guests can simply pay at the bar on arrival, making it an easy option for anyone looking to kick-start the weekend with friends or colleagues. While walk-ins are welcome, groups of 10 or more are encouraged to book in advance to guarantee a reserved area.
“We wanted to create a fun, relaxed way to celebrate summer Fridays in Monck’s Lane. Bringing together great BBQ food, refreshing drinks, karaoke and live music felt like the perfect way for people to kick off the weekend with friends,” Chloe said.

The BBQ menu offers something for everyone, with guests able to choose from a BBQ Pulled Pork Burger, a BBQ Pulled Jackfruit & Tofu Burger or a Build-Your-Own Beef Burger. A selection of fresh salads and sauces will also be available to complete the perfect summer BBQ plate.
And for anyone wondering whether they’ll miss out, the organisers have reassured us that “there’ll be plenty of food to go around.”
Entertainment begins in Monck’s Lane from 7pm with music and karaoke hosted by DJ Sharon McCracken. From 9pm onwards, the party continues in the Garden Bar, where a variety of live music acts will perform each Friday night throughout the summer.
The Summer Friday BBQs will take place every Friday until 28 August, with the exception of 17 July and 31 July, when Monck’s Lane will be hosting private events.

And even if the Irish summer doesn’t quite deliver, organisers say there’s no need to worry.
“Monck’s Lane is partially covered, so the BBQs will go ahead rain or shine – although we’re hoping for plenty of sunshine!” Butler added.
With great food, live entertainment and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere, the Summer Friday BBQs look set to become a popular new addition to Wexford’s summer social calendar.
