New Wexford Senior hurling manager, Derek McGrath, has revealed his backroom side for the upcoming season…
It’s McGrath’s first year in charge of the Yellowbellies after taking over from Keith Rossiter. McGrath has been handed a three year term with the Model County.
Making up Derek McGrath’s backroom set-up will be Paul Morris (coach), James Quirke (coach), Gavin O’Brien (coach) and Joey O’Brien (Head of Athletic Development).
Morris made over 120 appearances with Wexford during his playing career. Morris’ appointment to the backrooom team is an interesting one too given that he was on the sub-committee to help find the new Wexford manager for the upcoming season.
James Quirke’s has led the Naomh Eanna Senior hurling team to Senior hurling glory.
There were talks and rumours that former Westmeath manager, and Wexford man Joe Fortune, would be involved with the set-up — but that will not be the case.
The news was confirmed at the most recent Wexford GAA County Board meeting.
