Popular Wexford cafe to close its doors this weekend

A popular café and restaurant at Bolands of Gorey is set to close its doors this weekend, bringing an end to a two-and-a-half-year chapter at the Ballyloughan Business Park….

The café has confirmed that its final day of trading will be Sunday, September 6.

La Vista Café & Restaurant, located within the Bolands of Gorey premises on the Arklow Road, opened its doors in March 2024, offering breakfast, lunch, coffee and sweet treats to customers.

The announcement has prompted an outpouring of disappointment from customers, with many taking to social media to thank the team and share their memories of the café.

Owners Paul Cullen and Craig O’Toole said the time had come for the chapter to come to an end, while expressing their gratitude to the Boland family, staff and customers.

The owners thanked John and Michael Boland and the wider Boland family for the “opportunity, genuine support and kindness” shown to them during their two-and-a-half years at the premises.

They also paid tribute to their staff and management, past and present, and most importantly to their customers for their support.

La Vista had established itself as a breakfast and lunch destination outside Gorey town, with its own dedicated dining area, independent access and ample free parking. The venue also catered for private and corporate events.

The café was part of the wider La Vista hospitality operation, which includes venues in Wexford and Rosslare.
