St Joseph’s AFC in Kilmuckridge has been left counting the cost after a group of teenagers caused significant damage to the club’s facilities…
The club has said that its main pitch dugout roof and streaming camera system were damaged in the latest incident, while the club has also been dealing with ongoing issues involving littering and damage to bins. A spokesperson for St Joseph’s AFC said the latest damage occurred last Monday afternoon.
“We have noticed some devastating damage to our main pitch dugout and our streaming service in our pitch.”
As a result of the damage, the club will be unable to provide live coverage of matches from its main pitch via Staydia Sports for the opening weekend of the soccer leagues.
The spokesperson said the damage is believed to have been caused by a group of teenagers who have repeatedly been causing problems at the grounds.
“Unfortunately now we will not be able to view matches via Staydia Sports on our main pitch this opening weekend of the soccer leagues. This is because of a group of teenagers who persist to constantly litter and break our bins and the latest incident this afternoon damage our dugout roof and our camera system.”
The club is now reviewing its CCTV footage in an effort to identify those responsible.
St Joseph’s AFC is appealing to anyone who may have information about the incidents to come forward.
“Anyone with any information, or would like to offer a confession please come forward. We are currently looking through our CCTV footage.”
The damage is particularly disappointing for the club ahead of the new soccer league season, with the streaming service allowing supporters who cannot attend matches in person to follow the action from the main pitch.
