A Wexford town coffee shop has announced it will close its doors this Saturday.
Gather by The Grounds, located on Selskar Street, shared the news in a social media post, describing the closure as the end of one chapter, while hinting that something new could be on the horizon. The cafe was opened in October 2025, but after just one year in business, they have decided to close down.
The café said it wanted to thank customers for the coffees, chats, laughs and memories shared since opening.
“We’re so grateful for all your support,” the business said.
The post added that it was time to move on to a new chapter, while encouraging followers to keep an eye out for future developments.
Gather by The Grounds opened in Wexford town in 2025 as part of the hospitality business established by the Bates family, who also operate The Trough coffee outlets and multiple other ventures in County Wexford.
While the Selskar Street café is preparing to close, its farewell message suggests this may not be the last customers hear from the team.
“For now, it’s goodbye… but watch this space,” the business said.
Gather remains open at their other location in Kilmore.
