Met Eireann issues Status Yellow warning for Wexford

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for County Wexford as heavy rain associated with Storm Austen is expected to spread eastwards across the country later this week….

The warning was issued at 10.56am on Tuesday, October 20, with unsettled weather expected to bring potentially difficult conditions for people travelling across the county.

The Status Yellow warning will come into effect at 7pm on Thursday, October 22, and remain in place until 8am on Friday, October 23.

Met Éireann has warned that the heavy rainfall could lead to a number of impacts, including difficult travelling conditions and localised flooding in affected areas.

Outdoor events could also be disrupted as the wet weather moves across the country.

Motorists in Wexford are being advised to take extra care while travelling during the warning period, particularly on roads prone to surface water and flooding.

Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on the latest weather forecasts and any updates to the warning as Storm Austen approaches.

The warning covers a period overnight into Friday morning, meaning commuters and those travelling early on Friday could encounter challenging conditions.

Further updates are expected from Met Éireann as the weather system develops.
