A recent All-Ireland Senior football winner has been added to the Wexford Senior football backroom team ahead of the new season…
Wexford manager, John Hegarty, has added a 2021 All-Ireland winner to his backroom team with the appointment of Conor Meyler.
Meyler won an All-Ireland with Tyrone in 2021, along with winning an All-Star and three Ulster titles during his footballing career. The Tyrone native, however, was forced to retire at just 31 due to recurring injuries.
Omagh man Conor Meyler is also currently completing a PHD in Sports Leadership and he is the Co-Founder of start-up, VEYO, which is dedicated to helping people live and breathe better.
The Model County will be playing their football in Division 2 for the season ahead. That’s after John Hegarty has led the team to back-to-back promotions in the previous two years.
Although it’s an incredible achivement for the footballers, it’s a place that they will want to stay; they will be trying their best to maintain their status in Division 2 for the following year. A good run in the Leinster series or the Tailteann Cup are no doubt other areas on the KPI list ahead of the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, in other Wexford football news, Kilanerin-Ballyfad were crowned Wexford SFC champions for 2026 over the weekend. They defeated St Martins in the final.
